Wings is a book about a fifteen year old girl, Laurel. Who goes to high school for the first time in her life. She was homeschooled before. On her first day Laurel gets invited to sit with some kids in the cafeteriea. But she likes to sit outside for lunch. One of the guys from the table , David, decides to join her. They become friends and blah blah blah. One day Laurel wakes up with a lump on her back. Her mom passes it off as acne. But it keeps getting bigger. Okay wait for it......It turns into wings. Or so Laurel thinks. The only person she trusts to tell is David. He's a whiz with science stuff. He looks at Laurels wings and says that they are made out of plant cells , not animal cells like humans.Laurel can also hold her breath idefinetly, doesn't bleed. and like sparkly things. When they (Laurel and her parents)go back to their old log cabin that they are trying to sell , Laurel takes a walk around the woods. And randomly comes across a complete stranger who claims to be like her. Yeah it's a crazy book. I can't really tell anything else without giving away the whole plot but i will add that Laurel and David get tossed in a river tied to heavy rocks by trolls. Oh and Laurels dad almost dies. Half-Minute Horrors is a collection of scary stories.From authors like Lemony Snicket,Erin Hunter,Neil Gaimen and lots lots more.My favorites were the picture ones, especially The tales of Alexandria and Rose.But i don't know how to put a picture up here(yet anyways)so i am going to read you my favorite text one instead

"The right hand doesn't know what the left is doing"is a phrase that refers to times when people ought to know,but don't know,about something that is happening very close to them.For instance ,you ought to know about the man who watches you when you sleep.He is a quiet man ,which is why you don't know about him.You don't know how he gets into your home,or how he finds his way to the room in which you sleep.You don't know how he can stare at you for so long without blinking,and you don't know how he manages to be gone by morning without a trace ,and you don't know where he purchased the long sharp ,knife,curved like a cresent moon,that he holds in his left hand somethimes just millimeters from your eyes ,which are closed and flickering in dreams.There are,of course,things he does not know about you either.He does not what you are dreaming about , But then of course it may be that he does not care.His clothes are rumpled and have odd rips in them here and there .One of his coat sleeves is longer than the other,and this may be to cover his right hand . The sleeve is long enough that if you were to wake up and see him ,which you never do, you might not see that his right hand is strange and crooked .It would take a while , in the darkness of the room,to notice it is missing three fingers.He comes every night.His right hand does not know what the left is doing.



I thought this was an awesome book.However i would not recommend it to people who are prone to nightmares.Happy Reading :D

The Hunger Games

Okay my first review is of the book The Hunger Games.The Hunger Games is set in the future in a country called Panem(The remains of north america).There are twelve districts and then ,of course , the Capitol.The book is from a fifteen year old girl,called Katniss,perspective.Every year there is the Reaping Day this when the Capitol draws two names ,one girl and one boy,this happens in each district once all the tributes have been chosen they are taken to the capitol to prepare for the Games. in a few short days Katniss,Peeta(the boy tribute from district twelve)and twenty-two other tributes will be tossed into the arena to fight until the death.Can Katniss survive the Games?Will she ever see her mother and her sister again?If a tribute wins the Games they get a nice house plenty of food and they are showered with gifts ,losers die.And it has been so long since a tribute from district twelve won a Game what chance do they really have of surviving this horrible event?But with the help of Cinna,Haymitch,Effie,and the people of district eleven they might just stand a chance.This book is by Suzanne Collins and i highly recommend it.Have a great day and i almost forgot may the odds be ever in your favour!
